Golden Panda Exhibition

The Golden Panda design awards and exhibition is an annual event to showcase the design talent of Sichuan, China and in 2017 it broadened to be an international event.

The event consisted of a number of sequenced events, exhibition, panel discussion, and formal awards ceremony.

I was responsible for Budget management
Team & contractor management, engaging contractors & builders to construct the international exhibition space within the main exhibition hall. This included entrance displays, cases and facilities for digital displays such as games.
Exhibition curation – working collaboratively with consulate and embassy staff, collaborating university representatives artists and local officials. I created the conceptual flow of the exhibition and worked hands-on with representatives from New Zealand and Australia to arrange and exhibit works in part of the exhibition hall. I arranged works into areas that showcased the different categories of the design awards as well as the variety of international participants.

Project management – managing timelines, budgets, delivery of artworks, organising onsite security and appropriate transport.
Inviting judges both within China and internationally, including Peter Ruge an esteemed lecturer of Architecture in Berlin. I worked closely with the German consulate to invite him to participate and organised discussion panels.
